Choose the right service
Self-care
For common ailments that get better on their own — e.g. hangover, grazed knee, mild sore throat or cough.
Pharmacy
Feeling unwell and need advice? Your pharmacist can help with fever, stomach upset, aches and headaches.
GP surgery
Symptoms that are not going away — e.g. ear pain, back pain or ongoing stomach pain.
NHS 111
Urgent help when it is not an emergency — e.g. high fever, severe pain or worrying symptoms.
Emergency — 999 or A&E
Only in an emergency — e.g. loss of consciousness, severe breathing difficulty or heavy bleeding.
