Support for Disabled and Elderly Patients

Important to know and what support is available

If you have mobility impairment The Surgery building and our car park are easily accessible and all the consulting rooms are on the ground floor.

We have very limited parking spaces available in our staff only car park at the front of the surgery. We advise both patients and carers to bring their disability badges if they are to park on the street. Please let the practice know if you have issues with parking so that we may be able to support you with parking your vehicle.

There is a toilet accessible from our main corridor, down in the patient waiting area which is suitable for patients in a wheelchair with changing facilities. T

he Surgery has a wheelchair available for patients to use while at The Surgery should they need it depending upon the availability at the time of your visit.

Please ask for assistance at the reception desk or contact us to arrange your visit according to your needs.

If you have a video and/or audio impairment, a number of our patients use type talk. Our clinicians and receptionists can use one of our messaging systems to communicate with you (SMS, video/audio and online consultations, including language translators).

Some patients prefer to use emails (nhsnwl.shcadmin@nhs.net) to request an appointment, medication or get help with anything they need.

There is also a range of internet-based tools available, like NHS App, eConsult, Patient Access to help you with submitting your appointment, treatment or other treatment related queries.
