Shakespeare Health Centre registers patients from its catchment area however patients can register with a GP surgery outside of their catchment as long as it is practical for the GP surgery to provides medical services in a nearby area. You can register permanently with some GP surgeries outside your local area.
This can be helpful if you:
- want to use a GP surgery near your work instead of your home
- prefer the services of a GP surgery that’s further away
Your GP Practice may ask you for necessary documentation e.g. proof of identity and proof of address;
- for safety and security reasons and,
- to assess if their address is too far away to provide the necessary services
